One person can start a wider change.

White Ribbon Australia Community Partners and Supporters are people who want to help prevent men’s violence against women in the communities and networks they know.

Two ways to get involved

Community Supporters and Community Partners share a commitment to preventing men’s violence against women.

The right option depends on how your group or organisation would like to participate.

Community Supporters

Community Supporters contribute through everyday actions that raise awareness and make prevention more visible.

You might follow and share White Ribbon Australia content, use our resources, attend an event, support a fundraiser or start a conversation with someone you know.

You do not need to be an expert, organise an event or make a significant time commitment. You can start with one action that feels achievable and build from there if you choose.

Community Partners

Community Partners take a more active and ongoing role in bringing prevention into their existing networks and community settings.

Partners may facilitate conversations, share resources, organise local activities, connect White Ribbon Australia with new networks and encourage workplaces or organisations to strengthen their approach to prevention.

Community Partners also have opportunities to learn from and connect with others through state-based groups and the Community of Practice.

What Community Supporters can do

Every action counts. Choose the opportunities that feel realistic for your availability, setting and confidence.

Community Supporters take simple, flexible actions that help make prevention more visible.

You can:

  • share White Ribbon Australia campaigns, resources and the Not Perfect, Better guides
  • display materials and acknowledge key campaign dates
  • attend events, support fundraising activities and encourage others to get involved
  • start conversations about equality, respect and preventing men’s violence against women and children.

Community Partners take a more active role in bringing prevention into their existing networks.

You can:

  • share accurate prevention information and challenge harmful messages
  • lead conversations in your workplace, club or community
  • organise local activities and distribute White Ribbon Australia resources
  • join the Community of Practice and connect with other Community Partners
  • support fundraising and introduce White Ribbon Australia to new networks.

What Community Supporters can do

What support is provided?

The program includes training, reflective practice, connection with peers and access to guidance and approved resources.

Who can apply?

We welcome interest from people who support White Ribbon Australia’s purpose and are willing to learn, reflect, follow program guidance and take safe, respectful action.

Participation is not a counselling, crisis response or spokesperson role. Community Partners do not represent themselves as family and domestic violence specialists unless they hold separate relevant qualifications.
