Our Vision
A nation where every woman is free from all forms of men’s violence and abuse.
White Ribbon Australia is a global social movement working to stop men's violence against women. We strive for a society where all women and children are safe.
White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement engaging men and boys to see this violence as their problem to fix, not women’s problem to tolerate. We’re starting a conversation to reduce future incidences of violence, promote gender equality and start building positive relationships based on respect.
Our Primary Prevention approach is evidence-based and supported by national and international research. It is the framework we use to educate communities, schools and workplaces across the country.
Through our programs and campaigns, we engage with men and boys to be part of the solution, not the problem. By becoming an active part of the social change, we want them to see just how helpful they can be in putting a stop to violence against women for good.
Our Core Values
Accountability
To be transparent, responsible and trustworthy in all our activities and interactions.
Collaboration
To work collaboratively to achieve our vision of ending men's violence and abuse against women.
Diversity
To respect, understand and include all forms of diversity, to honour individual uniqueness and to celebrate differences.
Humility
To listen, learn and treat everyone with respect.
Social Impact
A lot of men share the belief that violence against women and children is unacceptable, yet sadly the issue still has huge prevalence throughout the country. White Ribbon Australia invites men to step up, speak out and be part of the change.
Australia needs men and boys to join us in making a lasting change in attitudes and behaviours. Men speaking to other men about violence against women is a powerful catalyst for change, and mobilising men is a powerful tool in ending men’s violence against women.
It’s a complex issue, and we provide the opportunity for both men and boys to constructively discuss what contributes to and behaviours that ultimately lead to violence.
White Ribbon Australia collaborates with the community through education, awareness-raising, creative campaigns, and preventative programs within a Primary Prevention framework.
