Introducing White Ribbon Month
This year we’re doing things differently. White Ribbon Day has been expanded into White Ribbon Month. Join us from the 18th of November to the 13th of December.

Earlier this year, we ran a series of focus groups with men and boys from all ages and stages of life, colours, cultures, shapes and sizes.

What we found was alarming.

We saw a disconnect between men and the issue of violence against women. The messages out in the community about preventing violence aren’t reaching the people who need to hear it most.

So, in 2024, White Ribbon Australia is expanding our traditional White Ribbon Day to be White Ribbon Month – a month dedicated to broadening our reach, asking the right questions and impacting the thinking of men and boys about violence and abuse against women.

For too long, women have been alone in championing ending violence against women. If we want change, we need men to walk alongside women.

That all starts with men being willing to talk about violence against women.

Changing behaviour doesn’t happen by telling men how to think, act or feel. It starts by listening and having honest conversations about how we can be better for ourselves and others.

From the 18th of November to the 13th of December, we’re going to be asking every man in Australia to get involved and tell us where they’re at with the issue of violence against women.

The start of a nation-wide conversation where you talk and #welisten.

We’ll be sharing these conversations throughout the month. You can join the conversation by tagging us in your own videos at @whiteribbonaustralia or sending us your thoughts by clicking the button below and answering one of our question prompts.

White Ribbon Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.

We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
